Hearing about the heritage and growth of this business has been great to listen to. But no growth comes without growing pains.
They have diversification across their range of businesses with multiple channels to market via a broad portfolio of customers. So, you will have stability and security in this role, not to be undervalued. But that’s not to say this role will be boring, far from it there is a huge amount to do as this is a newly created position.
This stems from the need for a great people plan but also the need to bring closer collaboration between the separate business units.
They therefore recognise there is significant scope and opportunity for both you and the business for an operationally led and strategic multi-site Head of HR to add significant value.
There is a decent foundation for you; an established business that has a number of commercial wins with new and existing customers.
But if you enjoy taking good to better via an unpick, create, and deliver methodology then this role will really appeal.
How will you do this?
1. Operate with significant autonomy and freedom as a newly created central HR function, reporting into the Group HRD
2. Full people review of the business as there are a number of improvement projects being thought about
What is exciting about this role is no one has previously looked at this. There are some really exciting projects happening on an individual site level, but these are only recently being uncovered, hence Pandora’s box.
You will need to have blue collar experience from a multi-site organisation. You will need to demonstrate experience of developing a successful people plan and rolling it out via a diverse set of business units. An external network and CIPD progression will also be important.
