This leading Global retail company is looking for an ESG Manager to join their growing team. The ESG manager will be responsible for developing and overseeing ESG projects, procedures, and reporting within the ROI team. The successful candidate will be passionate about sustainability, confident when speaking and presenting to all levels of people and be a team player who has a hands on approach. In this role, you will have nationwide accountability and will be required to travel to sites in Ireland when required.
Responsibilities:
1. Supports the Management in driving the education, communication and implementation of the ESG management system across the company.
2. Develop appropriate communication, reporting and verification mechanisms and metrics for ESG reporting.
3. Defining, developing and deploying guidelines and standard practices, in areas including, but not limited to, greenhouse gas emission reduction, supply chain sustainability criteria etc.
4. Create, manage and roll out the overall ESG strategy and any new initiatives.
5. Ensuring the ESG reporting and compliance requirements are met.
6. Support the strategic planning of operations, the identification and elimination of current inefficiencies and the identification of future strategic projects.
7. Manage, develop and guide a small team.
8. Budget management and auditing.
Requirements:
9. 3rd level qualification in an environmental/energy/science related discipline is essential.
10. 3 + years' experience in a similar industry/discipline (multi-site, wide range, and variety of operations in the Retail/Food Service/Catering or Construction).
11. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in at least two of the below:
12. o Carbon footprinting, carbon neutrality & net-zero modelling
13. o Climate change impact modelling
14. o Resource and Energy efficiency auditing
15. o Supply Chain sustainability reporting
16. o Sustainability reporting
17. Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to get on well with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
