We have a great opportunity for a Senior Technical Training Specialist to join our Gene Therapy team at this exciting time as we move to the new stages of our project and extensively grow our team to meet new challenges. The main focus of the dedicated Training Specialist role will be to develop and deliver training on our client specific methods, along with some molecular cell biology basic skills training in a GMP context, with an emphasises on GDP. Training will not only be concentrated on new employees to the business, but will also play a crucial role in upskilling current employees. This role will report to the Gene Therapy FTE team management and will have a large impact on the development and growth of the team. The role also offers a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to expand their knowledge and skill set in analytical methods for Gene Therapies, a novel and quickly growing area of the pharmaceutical industry.
Qualifications
The Training Specialist will be qualified to Bachelors Level 8 in a relevant scientific discipline and will have 3-4 years’ experience in a GMP environment.
Ideally the successful candidate will have experience in performing molecular cell biology techniques such as qPCR, cell culture, SDS PAGE and Sanger Sequencing.
Completion of Train the Trainer qualification or experience in training colleagues in the past would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will also be an expert in GDP.
Additional Information
Responsibilities and Duties
1. This person will be responsible for the training of new and current members of the team on client specific analytical methods in a GMP context with particular attention to GDP as per the company and team procedures.
2. They will also work with team management to develop a comprehensive training plan for on boarding new team members along with developing and delivering new content to the team.
3. They will be responsible for providing safety documentation to trainee before commencement of training so that the trainee is aware of risks and risk mitigation on the method they are training.
4. Liaise with team management to schedule team members training.
5. The candidate will be required to perform data review on data packs generated during training and provide feedback to trainee on both the technical aspects of the method and on GDP.
6. This person may also be required to perform basic laboratory skills training with new team members on an had hoc basis at times of high recruitment.
7. The role will be responsible for providing feedback to team management on training that has been carried out.
8. They will also be responsible for maintaining a detailed tracker of training status of the team and provide a monthly report to team management and raising any expiring training requirements.
9. Responsible for the updating of relevant documentation such as SOP, WI.
10. The role may also be required to performed routine testing and to back fill for analysts as and when required.
11. Participation in internal and regulatory audits and support of team management in demonstrating our training processes and documentation to auditors.
12. This role will also be responsible for keeping their own training up to date and raising to management and additional training needed or expiring.
13. Ensure resources are available for training when needed e.g booking of equipment.
14. Identify areas of improvement in relation to training and training procedures and lead continuous improvement projects so gaps can be closed.
15. The role will be responsible for collaboration and integration with site and parental training teams to benchmark and share best scientific practice.
