Cpl In partnership with our client Pfizer are seeking an Industrial Hygienist to join the Grange Castle EHS team during an exciting period of growth. Working with EHS specialists, safety champions and colleagues within each Operational Unit, the successful candidate will design and implement area specific monitoring and programs to ensure the safety, health and welfare of our colleagues. Responsible for site wide initiatives the position is afforded the opportunity to engage with site leadership, providing guidance on what is required for effective implementation and continued improvement of the programs. Given the range of IH topics, the specialist will be expected to plan annual activities, and budget for the resources needed to achieve this plan.
Support will be available via the Pfizer IH network, including sister sites within Ireland and engagement with national representative bodies. The successful candidate will liaise with the implementation of the programs, agreeing focus areas and site strategies prior to implementation. Key Duties And Responsibilities
1. Responsible for leading the development, enhancement and implementation of the relevant IH program ensuring the safety health and wellbeing of our colleague’s.
2. Responsible for keeping abreast of and informing the business of new legislation. Updating/ improving programs, policies, to ensure compliance with EU, and local environmental, chemical safety, biosafety, medical surveillance and regulations, codes, rules, and consensus guides and corporate expectations.
3. Responsible to provide practical technical assistance to EHS programs, operations and project developments.
4. Participates in site and global operational and tier discussions, committees and teams; and complete/support self-assessments and audits.
5. Collaborates effectively to develop emergency scenario responses and support ERT to ensure preparedness and focus through training.
6. System user of site Global EHS IT systems.
7. Acts with integrity to provide accurate resolution of issues as they arise and is transparent in escalating site or enterprise impactful issues to EHS Lead.
8. Identifies and embraces innovation to continually improve workflows and processes and learns to apply new concepts.
Qualifications, Knowledge And Skills Required
9. Diploma/BSc/MSc in Environment, Health and Safety discipline or other related technical degree desirable.
10. Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene, British Occupational Hygiene Society required.
11. 5+ years’ experience of working on Industrial Hygiene programs in the pharmaceutical or chemical industries. Biopharmaceutical experience is a benefit.
12. Technical appreciation of the relevant applicable EU/Irish regulations.
13. Appreciation of general EHS topics and practical experience of their application in manufacturing environment with a focus on industrial hygiene, biosafety, chemical safety, ergonomics, human factors and root cause analysis techniques.
14. Strong Incident Investigation and Corrective and Preventative Action technical skills.
15. Adaptable to change and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
16. Operates independently with a high degree of transparency and integrity with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
17. Appreciation for proactive partnerships and cross-team collaboration
18. Strong organizational and prioritization skills, and self-motivated.
19. Ability to influence within the EHS team and across the site while sharing information for best outcomes.
20. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint; ability and experience in EHS software packages.
21. Performs other related duties as assigned.
