Due to continuous expansion, Kerrigan Mechanical currently have a vacancy for an Intermediate Building Services Engineer.
This individual will work closely with the Contracts Manager and Project Manager using CAD drawings & Excel and also will liaise with other members of the construction team to ensure a successful project outcome.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for ensuring all building services are coordinated with other construction activities, from specification and procurement through to the installation, testing and commissioning of services in a variety of commercial, industrial, educational, hospitality, residential and healthcare buildings.
You will be responsible for continuous management and monitoring of the installation quality for M&E systems on these projects, from initial coordination to final commissioning and handover.
You will be expected to:
Coordinate with project design teams as required for M&E system interfaces with architectural and structural elements and assist with onsite problem solving, if and when issues arise.
Have oversight of M&E sub-contractors onsite, ensuring programme and quality expectations are achieved
Supplement the company's innovation and value engineering processes in consideration and implementation of best-in-class mechanical / electrical systems and products
Ensure quality is maintained through on-site supervision of contractor's works.
Meet regularly with the Contractors and Design Team.
Have ongoing liaison with M&E Team
Monitor progress and agree actions with the Contractor if progress is unsatisfactory.
Review the quality of the works and recommend remedial works instructions when non-compliance occurs.
Maintain records and produce regular detailed reports on progress and quality matters
Respond to RFI's as required
Compile, submit & review Technical Submittals as required
Review contractors progress on site monthly in relation to payment claims.
Develop commissioning programmes and witnessing of same.
Be knowledgeable with specifications, service drawings, architectural and structural details, liaising with design teams, coordinating subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with Company standards and programme
Other ad hoc duties as may arise.
Requirements
Third level qualification in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
At least two years' experience, preferably in the Building Services Industry.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Office & Excel and good knowledge of AutoCAD is required,
Interest in energy management and emerging trends in residential building services, design, and construction.
Relevant trade background an advantage but not essential.
Strong relationship builder, communication and collaboration skills required
Focus on deadlines and commitment to programme delivery.
Willingness to travel between sites across greater Dublin.
Strong problem solving and attention to detail.
An ability to achieve demanding time and quality targets
