About You
The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who is eager to deliver, with strong attention to detail who has the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment. We are looking for candidates with a sound knowledge of Sedgwick and its operation as a company, who is willing to operate flexible hours where needed, with the capacity to work independently and demonstrate initiative and innovation.
Specific Responsibilities in this role
5. Claimant relationship management & Third-party relationship management – ensuring continuity of contact and arranging appointments
6. Processing and actioning mail and claim related documentation
7. In collaboration with claims support colleagues, conducting necessary pre-site inspection investigations and entering results and updates on the electronic file system
8. Based on a comprehensive grasp of the case and liaising with claim support colleagues, communicating an action plan to the claimant and/or third parties – specifying actions, time frames, and deadlines
9. In collaboration with claim support colleagues, monitoring the life cycle of a claim and progress chasing (ensuring fulfilment of action plans)
10. Proactive management of a portfolio of property claims of varying complexity
11. Applying policy cover, terms and conditions
12. Preparing reports on the claim under investigation
13. Arranging interim payments, examining costs and achieving a settlement
14. Identifying suspect or fraudulent claims and dealing with the same in accordance with fraud guidelines
15. Recording and resolving customer complaints
Qualifications/skills
16. APA PL / CL Qualification essential (CIP or higher, desirable)
17. High level of proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
18. Sound numeric skills
19. Knowledge of building structures with an understanding of building defects desirable
20. Flexible with the ability to work outside normal working hours when the need arises - storms etc
21. Ability to delicately deal with sensitive situations
22. High level interpersonal and communication (verbal/written) skills
23. Full clean drivers license
Experience
24. A min on 2 years Loss Adjusting experience
25. Knowledge of building structures a distinct advantage
26. Experience in Surveying / Engineering or a similar function very beneficial
