Major roles & responsibilities
• Day to day planning, management and direction to the team to maximising departmental and organizational goals
• Partner with the Quality department to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Health and Safety (EHS) processes are in compliance with Cognex Quality Management System
• Provide expert supervisory support to manufacturing and distribution functions, through mentoring, developing and leading teams to support fulfilment of company goals.
• Manage the work performance of all employees assigned to the order fulfilment team.
• Supports Production staff targets by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and implementing systems, policies and procedures including scheduling of training, overtime, holidays and weekly Time & Attendance for payroll processing.
• Understands and deploys the use of Lean Manufacturing (5S) and Process Excellence (Six Sigma) principles and methods.
• Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, production flow, floor layout and product quality.
• Participates in process troubleshooting to correct/maintain desirable product outputs/yields.
• Liaise with the Inventory Supervisor to ensure material is transacted correctly and on time and work to support high level of cycle count accuracy.
• Liaise with Engineering to facilities Preventative maintained and Engineering Changes into product(s) and process(es).
• Establish and encourage a strong teamwork culture within the manufacturing area.
Lead and participate in cross-functional and cross-divisional process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Degree in a technical related field (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.)
Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience preferably in a Lean Manufacturing business
• Good working knowledge of MRP and Supply Chain.
• Proven track record of successful continuous improvement project implementation/execution.
• A minimum of 2 years+ in a supervisory role (preferred)
• Must be able to demonstrate personal leadership experience and understand the importance of positive employee engagement.
• Strong leadership and people supervisory skills with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
