What is the opportunity?
This is an exciting opportunity to join the New Ireland claims team, who assess and pay income protection claims for people who are unable to work due to illness and injury. Due to recent New Business Growth, the New Ireland team is expanding and is seeking candidates with a medical background to support.
In this role, you will:
1. Assess and make medical decisions on new claims when all requirements are in
2. Calculate claim benefits and manage the on-going payment of claims
3. Review existing claims to ensure they continue to be medically valid
4. Consider rehabilitation opportunities for claimants
5. Correspond with Brokers, Employers, Customers and Doctors
6. Develop a high level of technical and medical expertise
7. Develop and maintain effective working relationships within various internal Business Units
8. Interact with Industry colleagues and reinsurers and stay up to date with claims best practice

9. You have good medical knowledge, an interest in helping people and developing a career in the financial services industry.
10. An Occupational Health specialism would be really appealing.
11. You have a proven track record of being highly-organised and self-motivated with an ability to prioritise effectively, working both independently and as part of a team.
12. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills along with a strong attention to detail.

13. Qualified Nurse
Successful candidates will be supported to complete a required minimum competency financial services qualification.
More about the team
The Income Protection Claims Team assesses and pays all claims arising from the Company`s Individual and Group Life Assurance policies. The Income Protection claims assessors assess and manage a portfolio of Claims.
This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration – the exact frequency of which will be agreed with managers.
