What’s the opportunity?
This US multi-national are looking to recruit a tax specialist to join their team. Working directly with the head of Tax this opportunity would be ideal for a candidate who is coming out of their training contract with one of the big 4 firms and looking to gain unbelievable experience of working with a company that has a diverse range of products and services.
What will my day-to-day look like?;
1. Provide real-time local income tax and VAT support, including acquisition, construction, operation, corporate finance, leasing, and accounting teams;
2. Coordinate with local tax advisors on the local country tax compliance matters.
3. Gather information requested by the advisors and review tax returns prepared to ensure timely and accurate tax return filings and payments with all appropriate agencies;
4. Correspond with local tax authorities on local country notices, elections, and tax assessments;
5. Work closely with internal and external parties on tax/legal structure and maintenance of entities to ensure the legal documents and financial records reflect the intent of the tax structure, including documentation of proper funds flow in relation to capital structure of investment;
6. Manage value-added projects, such as cost segregation studies to maximize cash flow and minimize tax leakage in countries where the company operates;
7. Provide insights on local tax issues and assist the Corporate Tax team in calculating and budgeting local country tax liabilities, including preparation of US GAAP quarterly tax provisions to ensure adequate tax reserves have been established for US reporting purposes;
8. Assist the Corporate Tax team with documentation of the Company’s tax positions, such as transfer pricing policies, internal control processes, and uncertain tax positions with respect to European operation
9. Assist in the management of the group's BEPs requirements.
Ok, I’m interested what do I need to have to be successful?
10. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Master's degree in taxation is desirable. Professional certification is a plus.
11. Combined public and corporate tax experience is desirable
12. Big 4 experience preferred, US GAAP tax accounting principles knowledge is a plus.
13. Multinational corporation experience is desirable but not essential.
14. Perceptive, self-starter, able to work independently and under pressure.
15. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
