The financial planning team are part of the Private Wealth business in Mercer. We provide holistic financial planning to individuals, High-net-worth individuals and members of corporate organisations. The advice covers a broad range of wealth management services including retirement, savings or investment, protection and inheritance planning.
The role will involve providing detailed advice to individuals on their financial affairs and the role holder will utilize their technical knowledge to identify solutions for their portfolio of clients.
It is an exciting role for a proactive private client advisor/financial planning consultant with lots of opportunity for progression and expansion of the role. This role will be based in our Cork office in Navigation Square.

Responsibilities include:
12. Advising individuals on all aspects of managing their wealth and related financial planning needs
13. Develop relationships with existing corporate clients and provide expert financial planning advice to employees
14. Develop relationships with existing individual clients and provide ongoing advice
15. Generating new business opportunities from their client base including sourcing new individual clients from external channels
16. Meeting sales and revenue targets
17. Maintaining a detailed sales pipeline
18. Keeping accurate records of meetings and advice process, providing compliant advice based on Mercer procedures
19. Self-managing day-to-day workload
20. Working with team colleagues to optimise Mercer’s service and brand
21. Maintaining relevant qualifications through CPD and adhering to regulatory requirements in the provision of financial advice
22. Assisting in the development of current and new financial planning services or products
What you will need to have:
23. 7+ years’ experience in individual pensions, life assurance or providing financial planning advice to individuals
24. Deep understanding of pensions and investment techniques including relevant technical qualifications or knowledge
25. Driven, opportunistic and commercially aware individual with an appetite for reaching sales goals
26. Organised and able to generate own new business
27. Excellent communicator amongst your team, peers and prospects plus the ability to maintain strong relationships across the business
28. Delivers excellent client service and satisfaction with the ability to positively influence the team
29. Maintain best practice standards and be a key driver in the creations of a positive working environment for colleagues within the team
30. Deep understanding of products available to individuals and advice process
31. Clean driving license
Qualifications:
32. Minimum requirement is Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA)
33. Other related qualifications also desirable e.g. RPA/SIA/CFP
