The Role
Murphy Water are hiring an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to work on the commissioning and maintenance of Water and Wastewater projects across the country. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Contractor. The successful candidate will join the Murphy Water engineering business within the Automation & Operations Department reporting to the Operations & Maintenance Manager. Qualifications required
- Candidate must be qualified with an Electrical or Electrical Instrumentation National Craft Certificate or equivalent.
Skills/ Experience
- Motivated, self-starter with excellent communications skills
- Minimum 5 years electrical experience in an electrical & instrumentation role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience within the Water / Wastewater industry a distinct advantage
Duties
- Reporting to the Operations Manager
- Onsite inspection & maintenance of PLC based electrical control systems and instrumentation.
- Maintain and diagnose faults; mains power connections, power generators MCC’s, transformers, motor starters VSDs & DOLs, electric actuators, instrumentation (Level Pressure, Flow & analytical).
- Electrical equipment onsite commissioning
- Coordinate with operations personnel to achieve compliance
- Fault diagnostics and modification to existing electrical control and automation systems.
- Monitoring and optimisation of instrumentation, PLC’s, and electrical control systems.
- Preparation of technical specifications and supervision of sub-contractors.
- Checking electrical and instrumentation control panel wiring schematics.
- Responsible for ensuring all electrical and instrumentation installations on projects assigned are installed in accordance with relevant standards.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the company procedures observing proper health and safety.
- Be a punctual, motivated, and organised self-starter who is enthusiastic and conscientious about completing work on time and to a high standard.
- Full, clean driving licence
