MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance and repair of automated equipment and systems:
1. Complete preventive maintenance on equipment
2. Review and improve maintenance routines
3. Carry out repairs to equipment when failures occur.
4. Typical equipment will include the following;
5. Automatic storage and retrieval system
6. Printing and Labelling equipment
7. Conveying systems
8. Mechanical lifting/de-stacking machines
9. Fridge and freezers
10. Building services and facilities, including a HVAC systems
11. Co-ordinate the electro-mechanical repairs to high-speed, PLC-controlled plant, handling and packaging equipment, also pneumatic control systems
12. Co-ordinate the scheduling and performance of PM routines
13. Support Production Team in achieving targets
14. Update and Use of Handover procedure. Complete handover sheet and relay contents to Eng Mgr and incoming shift.
15. Closely monitor line and machine performance and intervene on line as soon as any deterioration in performance occurs
16. Work with equipment suppliers on new equipment and installations and modifications
17. To be observant & work off your own initiative when a fault is detected & to take action based on your best judgment on whether to effect immediate repair or not
18. Co-operate and participate fully in training and development in cross-skilling and other job-related competencies
19. Update the maintenance management system &records of all changes, stores transactions made and work carried out
20. Troubleshooting using PLC Programs
21. Responsible for completion of planned work, shifts daily input of all works, parts booked out of stores and control of breakdowns
22. Any other task within capability as determined by the Company
23. Meet matrix targets and KPI’s determined by Internal customer
Safety: Carry out regular safety audits of the equipment and systems in all sections of the plant, using whatever resources are necessary to effect corrections. Ensure that proper authorisations are obtained for all outside contract works and materials. Ensure that the Health and Safety regulations and policies are adhered to at all times and report any infringements of these regulations immediately.
New Equipment install and commissioning: Complete installation and commissioning of new equipment. Support Validation team to complete equipment validation. Specify and recommend new equipment for install or replacement.
Maintenance of facility systems and equipment: Support the facilities team in preventive maintenance and repair on mechanical/electrical equipment associated with a semi-automated warehouse
Standard Operating Procedures: Write up engineering procedures for the equipment for which he/she is responsible.
Quality: Execute all work in compliance with the relevant quality systems.
Other responsibilities may be added as deemed necessary for the effective operation of the engineering team.
