Job Summary:
Shannon Technical Services (STS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our dynamic team either in Shannon or Malta. The Group CFO will be responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, management, and operations of the entire group of companies, including its subsidiaries and divisions, tracking cash flow, financial planning, and analysing the company's financial strengths and weaknesses. The ideal candidate will have a relevant accounting qualification with at least 5 years of experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s overall business goals.
Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.
Financial Management:
Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, and corporate finance.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the CEO, directors, and shareholders.
Monitor financial performance and provide regular financial analysis and insights to senior management.
Handle ad hoc duties such as payroll input and customer invoicing.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate financial risks to the business.
Ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets.
Operational Efficiency:
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
Optimise the company’s financial performance through cost management and efficiency initiatives.
Manage and oversee the financial department, including recruitment, development, and performance management of finance staff.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and other financial stakeholders.
Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, auditors, and public officials.
Qualifications:
Relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role.
Advanced Excel required.
Proven experience with NetSuite Oracle is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and organisational skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in the aviation industry or a related field.
Proven track record in financial planning and strategy implementation.
Demonstrated ability to manage a team and improve financial processes.
Proficiency in financial software and systems, with specific experience in NetSuite Oracle as a distinct advantage.
