Join our client as a Global Master Data Steward as they align and elevate their product lifecycle and master data management across their global business.
Project Background/ Description/Roadmap:
1. Through the project, our client is driving an alignment and elevation of product lifecycle and master data management across its global business. The legacy of the project should include the establishment of appropriate mechanisms, processes, system onboarding and an organizational competence capable of successfully managing its critical to product data in the future. This role will help us deliver on project commitments and will then transition into steady-state business operations.
2. Within the project, the Global Master Data Steward will own the project data workstream including collaboration with the Project PLM Lead and SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) Lead (and other stakeholders), Regulatory data leads, etc towards the successful delivery of the project goals and objectives.
Contractor Duties:
3. Ability to analyse current state of master data and craft, in alignment to stakeholders and corporate needs, a go-forward strategy (including identification of team structure)
4. Support the project Global Roll plan and execution by being accountable for defining the data migration policy/ cutover approach, coordinating execution of the data migration and defining methods/ standards for data verification
5. Work with organisational stakeholders to define, document and harmonize data quality rules, policies, approval processes, critical metrics, availability rules, exception reports and implement control plans to ensure data remains clean, accurate, used, etc.
6. Solves complex problems involving data requirements, architecture, and strategy decisions and enacts a fresh opinion on existing solutions.
7. Owner of the Data Governance Council and process
8. Responsible for steady state activities, objectives and may lead projects or steps within a broader project.
9. Communicates reporting, information and builds relationships with domain experts and business partners to meet organizational goals and deadlines
10. Maintain quality of the data using customer feedback, concerns, questions; internally reporting metrics; evaluating and identifying issues; and coordinating and implementing corrections regularly.
11. Define methods, standards and perform data validation testing and periodic audit for data quality
12. Recommend consistent business naming standards for use across the organisation; develop data definitions, standard calculations, and business rules.
13. Go-to experts for the company with anything in the realm of data; responsible for assuring quality and trust in the data, creating standard definitions for the organization to follow, and maintaining a consistent use of data resources across the organization
14. Become a trusted resources who keeps the company adhering to changing data requirements/ regulations/ laws
15. Advocate and thought leader of data, educating employees and keeping a pulse on new best practices and technology
16. Champions and articulates the importance of data stewardship/ master data management across all levels of the organisation
17. Ensure compliance and security of the data. Data stewards are responsible for protecting the data-while providing information on potential risks and offering regulatory guidance.
18. Identify opportunities for improvement of tools, processes
19. People management and a commitment to the development of employees
20. Drives global process standardization
Skills and experience
21. Bachelor Degree or Masters degree in a relevant discipline;
22. 5+ years experience in a highly regulated environment.
23. Project Management or Six Sigma qualification preferred
24. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in leading data operations in a fast-paced work environment with strong analytical ability.
25. Must have led and implemented a global data migration process.
26. Experience dealing with complex data relationships and effectively communicating across a diverse team.
27. Recent experience with Tableau or similar visual analysis tool, optimization, analytics and large data sets, project management, developing visually compelling interactive dashboards.
28. Awareness/ understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and the interconnection of data flows to/from an ERP system (SAP) in the context of Supply chain, Manufacturing, Quality
29. Understanding of Design Control, Change Control, Product Life Cycle Management, Sustaining Changes and manufacturing transfers, including experience of cost savings and product / process improvement.
30. Strong people management skills
31. Excellent MS Office skills,
32. Effective collaboration with cross-functional Business Units and Experience managing cross functional teams,
33. Ability to Perform and manage critical analysis of data.
34. Excellent facilitation and communication skills,
35. Ability to solve complex problems, and be innovative,
36. Comfortable working with all levels of the organisation, including presentation to executive management,
37. Approachable and enthusiastic.
