Job Summary:
These Production Operative roles are aimed at developing skills and gaining hands-on experience in process operations within a manufacturing environment. The role involves learning to operate and maintain production equipment, monitoring processes, and assisting with ensuring product quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
o Participate in structured training programs designed to develop skills in process operations and maintenance.
o Shadow experienced technicians to learn the fundamentals of machine operation, safety procedures, and process optimisation.
o Assist in operating and monitoring process machinery and equipment to meet production targets.
o Carry out basic process adjustments under supervision to optimize product quality and efficiency.
o Work with senior staff to troubleshoot process issues and learn how to resolve equipment malfunctions.
o Conduct basic quality checks and ensure products meet specified standards.
o Follow all safety and regulatory guidelines, reporting any safety concerns to the supervisor.
o Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with company cleanliness and safety standards.
o Accurately record process data, maintenance activities, and any observations for process improvements.
o Maintain proper documentation of training progress and assessments as required.
o Contribute ideas to improve manufacturing processes and participate in initiatives aimed at reducing waste, improving quality, and enhancing productivity.
o Learn to identify and implement improvements in process operations over time.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in plastics industry or extrusion is a massive benefit.
* Interest in learning mechanical and/or electrical systems, with a desire to develop troubleshooting skills.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* Willingness to learn, take initiative, and engage in ongoing training.
* Ability to lift [specify weight limit, e.g., 25kg], stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
Working Conditions:
* 4 week shift pattern rotation and work 12-hour shifts including nights and days.
