We have a new opening for a Senior Automation Project Manager Location: Athlone – 12 month contract day rate position Hybrid based role immediate start
This person will oversee manufacturing projects with a focus on automation, as well as IT/OT responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex automation projects within a manufacturing environment and be adept at integrating IT and OT systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage scope of large Capital automation projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational requirements.
2. Collaborate closely with the process design team to enhance design for for automation.
3. Work closely with the IT team to ensure Automation Architecture and design is cyber secure and that the OT layer integrates well with the IT layer of ISA-95 architecture.
4. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with a focus on Automation Systems Integrators and OEM suppliers in Europe.
5. Provide technical oversight of all automation project phases, including design, development, validation, testing, commissioning, and implementation.
6. Manage a multi-skilled Automation Team in an empowered team-based environment, ensuring full engagement of team members.
7. Closely manage the interface with Manufacturing / Technical Operations including automation effect on plant / process performance, change control handoffs, and project planning.
8. Direct project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
9. Communicate project status by preparing standard status reports and by participating in departmental and customer project status update meetings.
10. Consult with internal project groups by sharing project management knowledge and assisting or mentoring more junior project leaders in project management processes and techniques.
11. Interact with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, responding to requests, and explaining procedures.
Experience:
12. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
13. 10-15 years of experience as a Project Manager, preferably within IT & OT in projects in the OSD Pharma industry.
14. Experience with IT & OT implementations and infrastructure, preferably in production areas.
15. Experience from a large global company and ability to work effectively with different cultures.
16. Managed vendor & stakeholder setup.
17. Proficiency in relevant automation technologies and software platforms S95 Level 3
18. Knowledge of automation applications with successful development and deployment experience.
19. Knowledge and experience in one or more fields of automation including material handling, tracking, and movement (vision guided vehicles, autonomous mobile robots, RFIDs) OR controls engineering, OR robotics and collaborative robotics OR automation safety and safety standards, machine vision
This is a day rate contract position competitive rates will be provided initial 12 month contract
