Perform Recruitment is currently seeking candidates for the position of Environmental Health and Safety Officer on behalf of our client.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and enforce environmental health and safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and programs.
* Perform EHS audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
* Deliver EHS training sessions to employees.
* Foster and instill a strong health and safety culture among all employees.
* Oversee daily EHS operations and tasks.
* Regularly review and revise company Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, Health & Safety Policies, and the Safety Statement.
* Stay informed about legislative updates and implement necessary changes.
* Implement and update EHS control measures as needed.
* Conduct routine inspections and audits of the facility to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
* Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement preventive and corrective actions.
* Provide guidance and training on safety procedures to all staff.
* Work closely with management to develop and execute risk management strategies.
* Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
* A Third Level Qualification in Health & Safety or a related field is required.
* At least 2 years of experience in Health & Safety within a manufacturing setting is essential.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices.
* Experience in the food manufacturing industry is highly advantageous.
* Demonstrated ability to promote continuous improvement.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Strong verbal, written, communication, and IT skills.
* Proficiency in conducting Health & Safety investigations.
* Fluent English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
