Your main responsibility will be to act as manager, clinical consultant, educator, researcher and auditor in all matters relating to diabetes care, is necessary to ensure the provision of a patient focussed quality service. You will also be responsible for implementing health promotion strategies for patient/client groups in
accordance with the public health agenda.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure that all Diabetic services policies, guidelines and protocols are research/evidence based and that they are updated as required
2. Promote good inter-professional teamwork
3. Collaborate with other members of the health care team in the hospital and in the community to ensure that a standardised approach to Diabetes is maintained
4. Implement changes in healthcare service in response to patient/client need and service demand
REQUIREMENTS
5. Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the specialist area of Diabetes
6. Have a minimum of 5 years post registration nursing experience of which 2 years nursing experience must be in an acute hospital environment
7. Possess a Level 8 or higher post-registration National Qualifications Authority of Ireland major academic award relevant to the specialist area of diabetes
8. Be registered or be eligible to be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives by NMBI
9. Have strong Leadership, Communication, Organisation and Time Management skills
10. Ability to proactively work with other members of the team
11. Must be computer literate
PACKAGE ON OFFER
12. A Competitive salary of €50,000 – €60,000 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications in line with the approved HSE pay scale
13. This position is Pensionable
