Responsibilities:
Solution focused, diagnosing and implementing permanent solutions to manufacturing issues in a structured problem-solving approach.
Technical responsibility for OEE Metrics Yield & Downtime, communication/escalation of critical downtime events and appropriate recovery resolution planning.
Support equipment/product changeovers while implementing continuous improvements to reduce changeover times (SMED).
Responsible for completing the equipment preventative maintenance (PM) ensuring continuously improved of PM’s to optimise equipment performance.
Manage and maintain spare parts inventory to minimised equipment downtime.
Design jigs & fixtures to meet manufacturing requirements and continuously improving existing processes.
Follow safe systems of work, taking care of personal health and safety, and that of other. Eliminating or reducing risks where practicable by complying with site safety rules and instructions and reporting hazards to management for prompt action.
Collaborate with production team to ensure correct prioritisation of daily/weekly action.
Be aware of the impact maintenance may have on the energy performance of equipment, in particular equipment which is a significant energy user.
Be aware of the impact maintenance may have on equipment safety features and the potential safety risks or hazards due to the removal or alteration of such features.
Adhere to Plant Safety requirements and Health & Safety requirements relating to your work, assuming responsibility for those aspects of the OH&S System over which you have control to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others.
Be aware of the potential environmental impacts associated with your work and the implications of non-conformance.
Contribute to enhanced energy performance by conservation of energy where possible (Lighting, Equipment, Air Conditioning etc).
Contribute to the continual improvement activities of the OH&S, Environmental and Energy Management systems through participation, providing feedback/ suggestions for improvement and by reporting accidents, dangerous occurrence, near miss/ illness, good catch and environmental incidents in a timely manner.
Training relevant Production Operators in correct use of process equipment and in product specifications.
Qualifications:
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Ability to be adaptable and flexible while managing multiple ongoing tasks.
Enthusiastic and positive attitude in dealing with people.
A hands-on approach to diagnosing and fixing manufacturing issues.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues in a systematic approach.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel.
Previous trade experience (Toolmaker, Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic etc.) or NFQ Level 6 in a Technical Discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics or Electrical).
Mechanical, Electrical or Lean Six Sigma certification – Highly Desirable.
Process experience in Grinding, Moulding, EDM and/or Laser processes – Distinct Advantage.
