Position Summary:
The Polisher will follow process instructions and blueprints to polish components and in conjunction works with other departments to repair equipment for the biopharmaceutical industry. Polishers will have the chance to work in a fast-paced environment on industry leading equipment.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Ø Polish equipment accurately and with proper procedures in a timely manner.
Ø Strong attention to detail and accuracy in fabrication process
Ø Knowledge of all types of hand tools and measuring devices.
Ø Work on stainless steel fabrication, including to but not limited to:
o Cutting tube
o Operate hand grinders
o Polishing
Ø NDT/Liquid Penetrate all inside welds on an electro polished vessel.
Ø Install and maintain utility/service lines.
Ø Operate overhead crane and/or forklift.
Ø Inspect and maintain proper and safe operation of all shop equipment.
Ø Recommend improvements.
Ø Execute other tasks as assigned.
Ø Ability to travel when required.
Ø Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.
Qualifications:
Ø Education: Leaving Certificate or equivalent
Ø Work Experience: Two (2) years previous Metal Work experience preferred.
Ø Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
Ø Other Requirements:
o Required to be able to perform simple math equations.
o Must be able to read a tape measure.
o Excellent problem-solving skills.
o Exceptional verbal communication skills
o Must be proficient with the use of hand tools and basic fabrication tools.
o Self-motivated.
o Must be proficient in reading blueprints.
Ø Typically work is in a manufacturing environment or customer’s site.
ØAwareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.
ØPrior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus
