Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division Donegal
The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.
About this role:
The Quality Engineer will be a member of the CAPA team in the Quality Department of ADC Donegal. The role involves all aspects of handling and responding to Non Conformances and CAPAs within the site, supporting the review and approval of Quality Records and supporting SMEs in completion of CAPA activities. This will include completing assigned CAPAs along with tracking and trending and other reporting metrics. The Quality Engineer will also work to meet site and divisional target dates.
Primary Function :
The Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the development and maintenance of Quality System procedures.
2. Ensuring the site delivers safe and effective products that meet customer needs whilst maintaining compliance.
3. Monitor and maintain the quality and compliance status of associated quality records.
4. Maintain the quality and compliance status of associated Procedures, work instructions and training materials.
5. Present and communicate status, report metrics, identify trends potential issues, improvement initiatives, as applicable.
Skills:
6. Candidate must be self-motivated with good communication skills.
7. Work within a team environment and willing to cross train within the team to assist as needed.
8. Involvement with ongoing Department and site wide projects.
9. Membership of Cross Functional Teams as part of continuous improvement opportunities.
10. Microsoft Office and Database experience beneficial.
Education and Years Experience:
11. Relevant third level qualification. Engineering/Manufacturing/Science is preferred.
12. Minimum 2 years in Engineering/Manufacturing/Scientific.
