Are you an experienced Chef looking for an opportunity to develop your management skills in a busy kitchen? Are you excited about working with the freshest of organic ingredients, knowing the source and having access to the farm of origin (our own organic farm)? Honestly Farm Kitchen in Strandhill, Co. Sligo practices "farm to plate" at its best.
We are now seeking an experienced Chef to join our team. Located in the beautiful seaside village of Strandhill on the Wild Atlantic Way, our restaurant offers simple, tasty, food made with great ingredients.
You will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, supporting or Head Chef and working with our team to ensure successful delivery of our menu. You will work with the Head Chef, our baker, our market gardener and the restaurant owners, to help develop our seasonal menu cycles.
The Role:
Full Time Monday to Sunday shifts over 4-5 days. Up to 40 hours per week. Daily breakfast, lunch, and evening service. Winter opening hours: 9:30 to 8 pm daily.
Reporting to our Head Chef, you will be second in command in the kitchen, helping to:
· Prepare, cook and present dishes according to our SOPs and recipes and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation in the kitchen.
· Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
· Ensure food preparation according to our Prep Lists.
· Ensure scheduled cleaning tasks are carried out to the highest standards.
· Use our Kelsius system to maintain HACCP records
· Assist with the ordering and close management of stock.
· Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are implemented and continually adhered to
· Be part of the team that develops our periodic menu cycles.
. Help with in-house catered events.
Additionally:-
· Report to Head Chef
· Be flexible in your working schedule.
The Person:
You will be someone who: -
· Holds a food related qualification - essential to the role
· Can lift heavy items
· Is an excellent team player
· Works well in a fast-paced environment
· Demonstrates an interest in sustainable food practices and great tasting food
· Possesses excellent leadership, communication & multitasking skills
· Is able to work holidays and weekends

· You are a Chef with at least 3 years' experience who enjoys the challenges of working in a busy kitchen and are ready to step up into a Sous Chef role

On-farm, subsidised, rental accommodation in lakeside cottage, is optional for applicants who have their own transport and wish to commute to the restaurant (approx 40 minutes). Lake frontage and use of kayaks/fishing boat etc.
