Job Description
We are working with a fantastic Cork based company who are looking for somebody to join their team as an experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineer!
Responsibilities
1. Design and implement highly available, secure, and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the cloud infrastructure meets the organization's IT operations requirements, and client's requirements.
3. Implement and manage AWS security and compliance policies & procedures.
4. Perform troubleshooting and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure.
5. Monitor and analyze AWS infrastructure performance to ensure it meets the organizations and client's requirements.
6. Design and implement automation scripts and tools for the efficient management of AWS infrastructure, and deployment of Genesis software.
7. Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to the AWS infrastructure to optimize performance, reduce cost, and improve security.
8. Manage and maintain the AWS infrastructure, including backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
9. Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS cloud technologies and trends and make recommendations for adoption.
10. Assist with the design and development of a multi-account, multi-region, highly available and highly automated AWS environment to support full software development life cycle and production of mission-critical applications.
11. Complete recurring system and security updates to mitigate risk and improve overall infrastructure information security. Provide application support for product customers.
12. Provide comprehensive systems administration functions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure to include support of AWS products such as: Key Management, AppStream 2.0, EC2 Compute, Serverless (Lambda, API Gateways, DynamoDB), S3 Storage, Relational Database Service (RDS), AWS Networking & DNS (VPC, Route 53, ELB, etc.) Identity & Access Management, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Auto Scaling, Cost and Usage Reports, and more.
Qualifications
13. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
14. At least 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure.
15. AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional are preferred.
16. Experience automating server configurations to include standard build installations and system security hardening.
17. Experience with core network services to include: DHCP, DNS, VLAN, load balancing, etc.
18. Experience writing standard operating procedures, system requirements, and other technical documents.
19. Experience collaborating with cross functional teams to achieve a shared project goal.
20. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
21. Experience with infrastructure-as-a-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
22. Scripting knowledge: PowerShell, Bash.
23. Experience administrating the following operating system: Windows, Linux.
24. Demonstrated knowledge of secrets management in the cloud using HashiCorp Vault and AWS Secrets Manager.
25. Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and Lambda.
26. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
27. Experience centrally monitoring systems for alerts and incident management functions.
28. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as AWS CloudWatch and New Relic.
29. Strong understanding of security and compliance requirements in AWS cloud infrastructure.
30. Working knowledge of software-defined lifecycles, product packaging, and deployments
31. Working knowledge of Relational and RDS databases such as MS SQL Server.
32. Working knowledge of information security standards such as ISO 27001 and SOC2.
