Our client is a leading partner to the Pharma & University sectors across Ireland in the supply & service of high-end capital equipment & consumables. They are seeking an experienced Capital equipment Sales professional who will be direct selling microscopy solutions and Microplate readers and washers. The successful person shall drive the sales of high-end microscopy systems to Academia & Biopharma. They will also develop and grow sales of plate reader and washer systems which support a wide range of applications from drug discovery & development, life science research and laboratory test development. The territory is Republic of Ireland. You will be highly motivated, ambitious, and dedicated to the development of new business in this division. The role requires an individual who is dynamic, with strong sales skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders across the Group.
Role/Responsibilities:
1. Generate and manage sales within the division, ensuring agreed quarterly and annual sales targets are delivered through a combination of appropriate activities with existing and potential customers in order to meet or exceed sales targets on an on-going basis
2. Work directly with new and existing customers to identify needs, qualify proper solutions, demo the solutions as necessary, issue quotations, handle objections, negotiate as necessary, successfully close the sale and provide the necessary after sales support
3. Take leadership from the Business Manager of the sales strategy and drive its implementation
4. Develop and execute strategies to support the growth of the business
5. Ability to explore new clients, market potential and business opportunities
6. Ensure that all activities are undertaken in line with the overall requirements of the company sales plan and sales objectives
7. Activities include prospecting initiatives, local shows / networking opportunities, key account mapping, sales call strategic planning
8. Project management with existing customers from initial qualification until Installation of the final solution
9. Consultation and Qualification include live- or virtual customer demonstrations of Liquid Handling and Detection Hardware and Software portfolio
10. Regular interaction with technical services dept to ensure customers are supported appropriately
Education/Experience:
11. Degree in Biosciences or STEM discipline
12. Minimum 2 years + experience of selling scientific capital equipment and/or life science consumables
13. Ability to understand laboratory environments and scientific protocols
14. An excellent communicator with strong communication and persuasion skills
15. Ability to meet frequently with customers and other decision makers
16. Ability to travel frequently throughout assigned territory
17. Ability to travel abroad for training, supplier meetings and conferences
18. Committed to working in a trustworthy manner with high levels of integrity and honesty
19. Excellent written, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
20. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
21. Excellent organisational skills
22. Able to organise/prioritise workload and meet deadlines
23. Interest in science, microscopy, scientific imaging
24. Excellent interpersonal skills & ability to build rapport, and to influence & engage at all levels of business
25. Able to work as a team member as well as being able to work independently and efficiently from home, with strong time-management skills
26. Full Clean Driver’s license
