Overview
Our 2024 Operations Tech Analyst Programme (OA) is a 9-month rotational programme for soon to be and recent graduates. This programme provides a blend of education, skill building, and exposure to SIG and the financial services industry. It will prepare you for a full-time position where you will be designing and developing applications and processes for the operations department.
Our Programme:
As an Operations Tech Analyst, you will be exposed to the full life cycle of SIG’s trading activity and develop a fundamental understanding of the industry and trading environment which SIG operates in. Trading Operations work at the intersection of trading, technology, and external counterparties. You will work within the trading operations teams to decompose problems into their logical components and develop efficient technology solutions which will be released to the desks. You and the team will be responsible for the full lifecycle (Design, Build, Test and Maintain) of each application the Trading Operations Tech team takes ownership of.
Working alongside our team you will have an in-depth exposure to all the different trading desks and business areas at SIG. Each rotation will incorporate hands-on experience and real-time tech projects to add value. Throughout the rotations you will work with our inhouse technology development teams as well as working closely with our tactical teams. If you have a keen interest in the financial markets, technology and collaborating with traders then this could be the role for you.
What’s in it for you:
1. Education: SIG’s in-house education programme is widely recognised as being the best in the industry. You will attend regular seminars to learn about in-house business, products, and tech (Excel, SQL, Python etc.).
2. Support: You will be assigned a mentor from our trading operations team for each of your rotations. You will also be assigned a buddy who was a previous Operations Tech Analyst to guide you along the way.
3. Real Impact: You will develop solutions that will be immediately implemented by the teams. Here, you'll see the real impact that your problem-solving skills can have on the firm.
4. Culture: Our non-hierarchical culture allows employees of every level to thrive. We buck the trend in the Finance world. The environment is casual, collaborative and we focus on continuous development, no matter how long you’ve been in SIG.
5. Perks: Based in the heart of Ireland’s Financial Services Centre, and a 10-minute walk from Dublin’s city centre, our employees avail of free onsite catering, a games room, and a large in-house gym, to name but a few of our favourite perks.
What we're looking for
Who you are:
6. Passion for Tech: You’re eager to apply your tech skills by working with Python, SQL, VBA or other programming languages where appropriate. This role is up to 80% coding so it is essential you have a flare for development work.
7. Problem Solver: You enjoy solving puzzles and love when you discover a solution to difficult problems. You’re not afraid to discuss ideas and work with others to find the optimal solution.
8. Communicator: You enjoy building relationships with those you work closely with. You enjoy sharing ideas, expressing your thoughts and listening to the views of others.
9. Ambitious: You constantly set yourself goals in life and give your all to achieve them. Be it in sports, music, academics, or another passion you have, you’re not afraid to put in the effort to reach your full potential.
