Technical Services Technician
We are currently looking for a Technical Services Technician to join our team in our award-winning business in Bray, Ireland. This position is based on site and is temporary for 12 months .

The role of the Technical Services Technician is to support the successful functioning of the Technical Services Laboratory and contribute to the overall objectives of the Technical Services team. The ultimate aim of Technical Services is to provide efficient solutions to assist the end-user in the successful use of Megazyme products and generate increased product sales.
The role holder will take responsibility for projects and analysis within the laboratory to ensure completion in a timely manner and accurate transfer of information from laboratory to other technical services teams, sales teams, and product management divisions as required.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Performing sample analysis and feasibility studies.
2. Optimising and adapting existing protocols for specific end-users applications.
3. Providing lab-based troubleshooting for technical queries as guided by senior team members.
4. Liaising with other departments in relation to QC testing, especially in process sample analysis.
5. Ensuring the completion of analysis in a timely manner and accurate transfer of information from the lab to relevant departments.
6. Understanding and adhering to SOPs; reviewing and updating existing SOPs.
7. Maintaining lab notebooks, records and preparing reports to the required standard.
8. Using various lab equipment and being able to recognize possible issues; calibration and day to day maintenance of analytical equipment.
About you:
9. You’ll have at least 1 year laboratory experience.
10. You’ll have the practical skills, knowledge and experience of Biochemistry and/or Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Food Chemistry or Molecular Biology.
11. You’ll be familiar with the equipment used in biochemical/analytical labs.
12. You’ll have excellent time management and organizational skills.
13. You’ll have great communication skills and record keeping abilities.
14. You’ll be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and tasks.
15. You’ll have a BSc. (Hons) in Biochemistry or related discipline such as Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Food Chemistry or Molecular Biology.
