Responsibilities
:
1. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for various construction projects.
2. Analyze project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive estimates.
3. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
4. Review and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
5. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks.
6. Prepare and present tender submissions and proposals.
7. Maintain and update historical cost data and pricing databases.
8. Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.
9. Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to address any queries and ensure alignment on project requirements.
10. Assist in the mentoring and development of junior estimators.
11. Keep the management team informed of market trends, cost fluctuations, and competitive pricing strategies.
Requirments
12. A third-level degree in Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
13. A minimum of 3 years' experience in an estimating role is preferred.
14. Proficiency in using Cubit software is required.
15. Experience working with a main contractor in Ireland and/or the UK is essential.
16. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Build Soft, BIM, and PowerPoint.
17. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and budgets.
18. Must be organized and skilled in presentation work.
