Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of automated and high-speed production and processing for the Ennis site. The individual will assist production operations to achieve throughputs and support relevant engineering requirements.
Functions will include: electro-mechanical maintenance, automatic equipment setups, equipment repairs, circuit board repair and preventive maintenance.
The successful candidate will also be required to perform equipment modification projects, facilities maintenance, mechanical maintenance of automatic test and branding equipment, electronic test systems, mechanical issues with a supporting role on machine electrical systems i.e. sensors, motor controllers, heaters, dryers and pneumatics, PLC’s and automation.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Perform routine preventive maintenance on all equipment and maintain documentation records.
2. Responsible for quality mechanical and electronic repairs and provision of electro-mechanical support to all Microchip production equipment.
3. Take responsibility for product changeovers on different types of semiconductor automatic test, handling and branding equipment to ensure minimum downtime.
4. Ensure critical spares are maintained where necessary.
5. Proactively identify and remedy equipment when necessary to ensure appropriate yields and throughputs are achieved.
6. Collaborate and problem solve, troubleshoot with production and engineering to prevent issues.
7. Perform mechanical repairs on automatic testers and handlers.
8. Perform electronic repairs on test equipment and circuit board repair down to component level.
9. Maintenance and upkeep of Automatic Test/Component Handling Equipment.
10. Contribute to the smooth running of production at all times and liaise with Production personnel with respect to their requirements.
11. Assist in the purchase, installation and commissioning of new plant equipment.
12. Perform basic maintenance on facilities issues as required.
13. Maintain good housekeeping standards (5S) in all areas.
14. Perform all duties in accordance with current safety regulations.
15. Perform other duties or tasks as assigned or required from time to time.
Requirements/Qualifications:
16. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an equipment/machine electro-mechanical maintenance technician, in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
17. At least a Certificate or Diploma in an electro mechanical related field.
18. Proven work experience demonstrating the ability to read electrical schematics/mechanical drawings, work from blueprints, drawings and/or rough sketches.
19. Flexible work attitude.
20. Excellent Communications Skills.
21. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft product suite is desirable.
22. Experience working with CE marking equipment desirable.
Additional Information
Swing shift- Week of days followed by a week of evenings.
Day shift hours: Monday – Thursday 8am -4.30pm. Friday 8am – 3.30pm.
Evening shift hours: Monday – Thursday 4pm -12am. Friday 3pm – 10pm.
