Responsibilities:
* Food Preparation and Cooking:
o Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest quality, ensuring consistency and excellence in all food served.
o Follow recipes and presentation specifications, adjusting as necessary to meet guest preferences and dietary restrictions.
* Kitchen Station Management:
o Manage a specific section of the kitchen, including mise en place, cooking, and plating, ensuring efficiency and organization.
o Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in your designated area, following all food safety regulations.
* Quality Control:
o Monitor the quality and freshness of ingredients, ensuring that only the best products are used in dishes.
o Taste and visually inspect dishes before serving to guarantee they meet the establishment's standards.
* Collaboration:
o Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to create and develop seasonal menus, incorporating fresh, local ingredients.
o Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles.
* Inventory and Ordering:
o Assist in managing inventory levels for your station, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
o Keep track of food costs and portion control to maintain budgetary goals.
* Compliance with Health & Safety:
o Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all kitchen staff.
o Implement proper food storage practices and rotate stock according to FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines.
Requirements:
* Experience:
o Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role within a high-end kitchen, ideally in a fine dining or luxury hotel setting.
* Culinary Skills:
o Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
o Ability to prepare a wide variety of dishes with attention to detail and creativity.
* Teamwork and Leadership:
o Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
o Strong leadership abilities to guide and inspire junior staff members.
* Communication:
o Effective communication skills to interact with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service.
* Flexibility:
o Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the business.
* Food Safety Certification:
o Relevant food safety and hygiene certifications (e.g., HACCP) are preferred.
