Job Title: Customs Clerk (Junior)
Department: Customs
Responsible to: Customs Manager/Depot manager
Schedule: Monday to Friday 15:00-23:30
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Run all activities associated with processing customs documentation to include reviewing documentation received for accuracy and completeness.
* Work closely with colleagues throughout the business and externally to advise and support them in custom related matters.
* Processing import/export consignments as required.
* Communicate with both Port & Revenue authorities.
* Assist with reports and retrieval of information.
* General administration.
* Customs tariffs/valuations.
* Creating and discharging T1 documents.
* Compliance focused approach to all Regulatory & company procedures.
* Irish Import and Export customs declarations.
* Northern Irish declarations using TSS.
* UK Import & Export declarations.
* ENS declarations.
* PBN declarations.
* TRACES submissions for Imports & Exports.
* Liaising with relevant regulatory authorities.
* Liaising with Trader, Freight Forwarders & Distributors for relevant documentation.
Requirements:
* 1-2 years Customs experience is desirable, full training will be given.
* Previous experience in freight forwarding / transport or similar industry desirable.
* Accuracy and attention to detail is crucial.
* Excellent organisation skills.
* Exceptional communication skills and command of the English language, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work under pressure and to the highest of standards.
* Compliance focused approach to tasks.
* Up to date knowledge Customs knowledge in Ireland.
* UK & NI Customs knowledge a distinct advantage but not essential.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Excellent organization skills.
* Able to work on own initiative.
* Team player.
* Problem solving skills.
* Experience in MS Office.
* Experience of TARIC, ROS, AEP, AES, AIS, NCTS, CHIEF would be preferred.
* Experience of Thyme IT an advantage but not essential.
