UL Sport Adventure Centre: Lead Instructor Requirements: A third-level degree or diploma related to working in the outdoors Senior Sailing / Powerboat Instructor In addition; Any 3 of the following Dinghy Instructor Swift water rescue Kayak instructor (level 2 or Higher) Canoe instructor (level 2 or Higher) SUP Instructor Go Windsurfing instructor Safety boat instructor Powerboat Instructor Emergency care instructor Experience working as a sailing SI is highly desirable. A Safety boat cert A valid basic first aid course (REC 2, ISA Emergency care, or equivalent) Candidates should have a minimum of 3 seasons working in adventure centres either in Ireland or abroad. During their experience, they should have shown evidence of their ability to lead and motivate others as well as being personally motivated to work to a high standard. Experience with the inspection and maintenance of outboard engines and windsurfing equipment would be an advantage. The Roles and Responsibilities of the LI include but are not limited to the following: Instructing and teaching Monitoring and maintaining ULAC equipment Assisting with staff training and staff development Staff briefing/debriefing (in the absence Manager) Safety officer (in the absence of Manager) Maintenance and cleaning of equipment and facilities Assisting with stock control Duration: The position will commence in April/ May and finish in September/October, exact dates are to be confirmed on the application. Hours: Lead Instructors are expected to work 37.5 hours per week.
