Promotion Development and Coordination:
Collaborate with the Buyer to develop promotions for Beers & Spirits. Collect promotional proposals from suppliers, ensure accurate input of all promotional details into relevant systems, and coordinate with the Buyer and Marketing to finalize advertising materials, product details, and images.
Category Management:
Support the Buyer for Beers & Spirits while independently managing categories for Minerals, Tobacco, Snacks, and Gifting.
Maintain accurate product and supplier databases.
Collaborate with team to forecast trends, manage stock levels, and monitor product performance.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate terms when necessary.
Stock and Store Coordination:
Work closely with all departments to ensure timely stock delivery.
Communicate updates on pricing, product changes, and promotions to all stores.
Supplier Relations and Procurement:
Establish and nurture strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and source new suppliers as needed.
Forecast purchasing requirements and identify new products and categories based on customer insights.
Set up and maintain supplier records, write and track purchase orders, and ensure timely deliveries.
Inventory Management and Sales Forecasting:
Regularly forecast sales for core products to prevent stockouts and manage reorder levels.
Monitor seasonal stock levels and propose reorder actions as necessary.
Market Analysis and Product Development:
Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer behavior to anticipate product needs and inform buying decisions.
Plan and manage product promotions, price adjustments, markdowns, and clearances to maximize sales.
Drive revenue growth through new concepts, innovative promotions, and market trend exploration.
Oversee new product development in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Finance
Work closely with Finance to resolve issues related to payment terms, discounts, and stock discrepancies.
Requirements for this Buyer Role:
* Minimum of 2 years of buying experience.
* Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Strong commercial acumen and analytical abilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
* Product knowledge in Alcohol is beneficial ( training provided if necessary).
* Regularly review and assess supplier performance.
* Experience with Business Central - or similar ERP system would be preferable
