This leading tour operator is currently recruiting an Inventory Manager to secure space and rate advantage from hotels, ensuring that clients receive a competitively priced tour whilst also achieving commercial success for the company. A commercial approach to demand management, turnaround times, people allocation, price offers, and use of allocations is essential. Overall jobs objectives include:
1. Lead the team so it operates commercially, identifying the opportunity to return quotation enquiries into placed hotels
2. Ensure there is a fast turn-around of enquiries and prioritising these with the team and Yield Management
3. Support high conversion rates from enquiries in partnership with the Client Hubs
4. Team management: training and supervision
5. Negotiation with hotels
6. Management and improvement of processes
7. Recommendation for hotels to be targeted, rates, itinerary building
8. Ensuring supplier relationships are maintained and enhanced
The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of Irish hotels and pricing structure with a firm grasp of revenue management (ie hotel Revenue Manager). Must have experience of the contracting process, demonstrating excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills. Will also be a talented team leader with proven track record of motivating and developing a team to meet all dept targets and goals.
