Now recruiting for our brand new 50 bed mental health service opening in 2024 in Co. Meath. This facility will be led by a talented multi-disciplinary team and is a great opportunity for anyone looking to progress their career as a Psychiatric Nurse. *Salary comparable to HSE Psychiatric nursing pay scales.
Job Objectives

2. To co-operate with your employer and to comply with your responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 2001 and Mental Health Amendment Act 2018, the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and all associated standards, regulations, and codes of practice in so far as is reasonable and practicable.
3. To be familiar with and to adhere to all company policies and procedures.
4. To use company IT systems as instructed and to never share your passwords with another or do anything likely to result in the unutilised disclosure of and or personal data as defined under the General Data Protects Regulations (GDPR).
5. Provide patients with quality services and manage the way in which the nursing staff cares for patients.
6. Assess and evaluate patient conditions, and plan, implement, provide, and document patient care in a manner that follows professional nursing standards and outlined practices.
7. Ensure clinical risk assessments are completed as required.
8. Ensure that current legal requirements for the safe administration and storage of medicines are adhered to in accordance with best practice.
9. Manage a designated workload.
10. Have a sound knowledge of clinical standards and participate in patient care audits.
11. Delegate and supervise the work of other staff grades within their role’s remit.
12. Work closely with patients and the interdisciplinary care team with person-centred care the goal.
13. Demonstrate a high degree of motivation and assume responsibility for their own professional development and contribute to the development of others.
14. Respect and maintain the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the patient, in relation to all hospital activities
Skills Requirement
15. Must have undertaken formal recognised post-registration education relevant to this area of specialist practice at level 8 or above.
16. Full Clean Driver’s licence or working towards
17. 3 years minimum experience within a similar mental health setting.
