NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. Applications are invited for an exciting new Consultant post which will be jointly based between Sandyford Services and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) but may include duties at other locations in the Health Board area.
The primary service of employment will be Sandyford which is hosted within the North West Sector of the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), with a funding agreement to provide General medicine service within Acute Services.
The successful applicant(s) will join the Sandyford team for part of the role and the Immediate Assessment Unit (IAU) at QEUH for General Medicine role.
The post holder(s) will be expected to provide direct clinical care and leadership; to participate in local and national quality improvement activities; to support and take part in educational activities.
Applicants should have full GMC registration, a licence to practice and be on the Specialist Register by the time of starting post. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to a CCT in Genitourinary Medicine and General Internal Medicine or within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of Interview. Those eligible for specialist registration (CESR) should be in receipt of this at time of interview. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
