Job Overview:
The Safety Manager will lead various initiatives and personnel within Malone Group Ireland, aiming to achieve top-notch safety standards across our projects and client base.
Reporting to: Director of Safety
Key Relationships: EHS Advisors, Operations Manager
Responsibilities:
5. Spearheading the risk assessment program in collaboration with the site management team to ensure its effectiveness and efficiency.
6. Overseeing the EHS team.
7. Taking charge of safety-related activities (both in design and construction) for Malone Group projects in Ireland.
8. Participating in site project meetings to evaluate safety performance and manage important customer accounts.
9. Assisting in commercial endeavors such as pricing and tendering.
10. Contributing to the recruitment and selection processes for new team members.
11. Driving safety enhancements, awareness programs, and engagement initiatives on customer projects.
12. Fostering a safety-conscious culture through collaborative efforts.
13. Supporting safety and training advisors in enhancing core competencies.
14. Prioritizing, coordinating, and implementing key safety activities like Emergency Preparedness, Internal Auditing, Operational Controls, Training, etc.
Skills/Experience Required:
15. At least 5 years of experience in a similar role (ideally 10+ years).
16. Diploma level qualification in Health and Safety.
17. Proficiency in regulations, including PSDP and PSCS, with practical experience.
18. Experience in FMCG, Packaging, or Process industries.
19. Familiarity with machinery and process risk assessment.
20. Demonstrated success in accident prevention.
21. Knowledge of OHSAS18001/ISO45001/ISO14001, Behavioral Safety Process, Continuous Improvement methodologies (TPM/Lean/iL6S), Waste Management Practices, and/or Licensed Effluent Systems is highly desirable.
22. Ability to influence others positively, drive change, and coach individuals or teams.
23. Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify root causes in processes and behaviors, working collaboratively to cultivate a positive safety culture.
24. Essential to have a respectful and caring approach towards all stakeholders encountered.
