Looking to recruit a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for an international insurance company based in Dublin city centre. Join a growing team in a company with huge plans for growth, Hybrid work model
The ideal candidate will hold a key role within the IT team. You will need to provide 3rd line BAU activities to over 250 users in across the companies many locations. There will be a need to design and deliver high quality infrastructure projects and to work in a proactive and cooperative manner
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provision of BAU Infrastructure support to internal stakeholders
2. Ensure optimal availability and performance of critical infrastructure components and applications.
3. Act as a key internal technical resource for major change projects
4. Work closely with 3rd party vendors to ensure service provision and project delivery meet or exceed business expectations
5. Act as an escalation point for complex support issues
6. Be responsible for the overall health of the infrastructure
7. Scope, design and implement new systems
8. Produce and maintain high quality system and project documentation
9. Monitor incoming security threat alerts and act when required
10. Provide regular feedback to the Head of Infrastructure for projects, incident management and change management
11. Mentor and guide junior members of the team
12. Work closely with other technology teams (internal and external), tech architects and business owners to refine requirements and translate business needs into IT solutions
13. Work to ensure there is always an approach of continuous improvement and implementation of best practice
14. Effective documentation of relevant tools and reports
15. Work with the software teams as needed to ensure the technology environment requirements are known and are properly supported, fit for purpose, and kept up to date
16. Create a supportive and rewarding working environment that aligns with the company culture as well as instilling a sense of ownership, accountability and technical excellence in your team driving efficient processes and constantly push engineering best practice
17. Monitor efficiency of resource use and efficiency of delivered systems
18. Regular progress reporting, defining and reporting KPIs and key objective/result metrics including helping your team define, drive and achieve their objectives and key results
19. Keep stakeholders up to date on all activities that affects their individual goals and be a point contact for work status
20. Continual focus on long term technology effectiveness, simplicity of solutions and appropriate controls
21. Estimate projects and tasks, working closely with technical and business teams as needed
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
22. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
23. 5+ years' experience in a similar technical role
24. A mentality focused on strong customer service with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels
25. Fluent in Agile/Scrum
26. Strong motivational and people skills, helping team members to excel in a culture of collaboration and openness
27. Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced enterprise level environment
28. Clear ability to run and manage processes efficiently, including change processes, aligning with other teams as needed
29. Able to deliver objectives assigned to you with a strong sense of urgency
30. Adaptable working in a heterogeneous IT environment
31. Supporting and building a team culture of security, innovation, efficiency, accountability and initiative, with a focus on process simplification and outcome delivery
32. Work closely with technical leadership and peers to create product roadmaps, estimate work packages and set priorities for your teams
Technical skills:
33. Windows OS systems administration knowledge (Windows Server 2012 R2/2016/ 2019, Windows 10)
34. Experience managing Windows domain environments at an advanced level (Active Directory, Group Policy, Certificate Service etc)
35. Strong Azure, O365 and Exchange Online administration skills
36. Endpoint Management Solution - SCCM
37. Extensive experience working in a heavily virtualised environment (VMWare v6.5+ ideally)
38. Previous experience administering and maintaining Storage Area Networks
39. Basic SQL server administration
40. Previous experience working of firewall, switch, or router administration (Palo Alto or Cisco Preferred)
41. Good experience with application packaging and deployment
42. Security Tools - Mimecast, Zscaler, BitDefender
43. Mobile Device Management - Airwatch, InTune (MDM & MAM)
44. Unified Communications - Cisco Webex, Microsoft Teams
45. Experience setting up and maintaining desktop image deployment solutions
46. Experience setting up and maintaining patch deployment solutions
47. Demonstrable experience of working with an identity & access management solution (such as OneLogin, Duo, Okta, ADFS)
