Eligibility Criteria
Registered nurse with NMBI. Proof of current registration will be required before appointment is confirmed.
Must currently reside in Ireland and be eligible to work in Ireland.
Must be Garda vetted.
Fluent in English (verbal and written) and be an effective communicator with good interpersonal skills, self-confidence and organisational ability.
Working knowledge of HIQA standards.
Should have the necessary nursing experience to adequately discharge the duties of the post.
Core Responsibilities
Supervise, lead and manage staff, delegating and allocating duties as necessary.
Ensure that all residents are treated with dignity, privacy and respect and ensuring they are treated as individuals.
Maintain clear, concise and accurate records within the Nursing Home in accordance with policies, legislation and standards.
Ensure that care plans are implemented, evaluated and reviewed every three months as and when required and that relevant information is cascaded to the appropriate staff.
To administer medication safely and within statutory guidelines.
To work effectively and efficiently in terms of time management, personal organisation and adherence to organisational policies and work procedures.
To participate in quality development and audits.
Practice professional and responsible health care.
To utilise advanced skills in patient assessment and undertake appropriate clinical decisions accordingly.
To communicate with residents, families, carers, G.P.'s, Public Health Nurses or anyone else involved in residents' care to ensure a patient-focused service.
Play an active role in infection prevention and control and ensure the hygiene and cleanliness of the Nursing Home is maintained at a high standard.
Work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team.
