Our client is a well-known public transport company based in Dublin who are currently recruiting for HGV and Car Mechanics to join their team on a permanent basis. To be considered for these roles, you will need to possess a National Craft Certificate for the trade of Heavy/light Vehicle Mechanic and/or currently registered in an apprenticeship.
Responsibilities:
• Vehicle and plant fault diagnosis
• Preventative maintenance and repair of vehicles, plant, and premises
• All tasks associated with the mechanical systems, electrical systems, and body systems of vehicles
• Operate garage equipment
• Grease vehicle lubrication points and change vehicle oils Maintain vehicle batterie
• Undertake all tasks provided for in the Productivity Agreements EGRP02.4 HR – August and 2 Report any vehicle defects observed to supervisor
• Maintain clean and efficient workshop
• Undertake roadside repair and recovery of vehicles
Qualification requirements:
• National Craft Certificate for the trade of Heavy/light Vehicle Mechanic awarded by SOLAS/Department of Education following the successful completion of a recognised SOLAS apprenticeship OR
• Advanced Certificate – Craft awarded by FETAC following the successful completion of a recognised SOLAS apprenticeship Driving Licence requirements:
• A Valid Category B Irish Driving Licence - held for a minimum of 2 years OR
• A Valid Full Category D Irish Driving licence
Other requirements:
• Be over 21 years old (to comply with D licence regulation)
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Applicants must be available to work shifts, including nights, weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts depending on staffing requirements
