The ETF Product Developer will be a member of the EMEA Product team supporting the development and range management of SSGA’s EMEA ETFs including the research, design and build of new active and index ETFs across SSGA’s range of investment capabilities. The EMEA Product team is a part of SSGA’s Global Product team which is part of the Chief Business Office (CBO), supporting the Client Coverage Group and Global Investment team to research, design and deliver innovate products and solutions to SSGA’s clients across asset classes and investment styles, including sustainable investing.
The ETF Product Developer will collaborate with colleagues in the Global investment teams, portfolio strategists, client / consultant facing teams, Capital Markets, and the broader Global Product team to drive our ETF product agenda.
What we need you to do:
1. Design, develop and deliver new EMEA-domiciled ETFs to support SSGA’s EMEA Institutional and Intermediary clients and prospects to support SSGA’s overall strategy and business priorities.
2. Develop, support and execute on SSGA’s EMEA product roadmap and provide insights to the global product roadmap, including in relation to sustainable investing.
3. Execute the product strategy, develop business cases, design product features and co-ordinate launches. Work cross-functionally to develop and position the firm's EMEA product range.
4. Analyse market research and understand the competitive marketplace to identify market trends and potential new product opportunities.
5. Understand the needs of SSGA’s EMEA institutional and intermediary clients and prospects, the opportunities in the market and how best to respond to both of these with SSGA’s investment capabilities.
6. Manage the full product lifecycle of the existing range of funds; analyse - and where appropriate adjust - pricing, positioning and operating models to ensure they remain market-leading products; merge or close products if needed.
7. Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with the Global Product team, key internal and external business partners.
8. Participate in the implementation of EU / UK regulation impacting SSGA’s EMEA product range.
9. Contribute to and produce key management reports, in support of a strong governance process and to ensure accountability for the Product team.
Job Requirements:
10. 7+ years of experience within product development, design, or as a product strategist/investment strategist with demonstrable track record of delivering successful outcomes
11. In-depth knowledge of the European regulatory landscape in relation to asset management and funds including MiFID, UCITS, AIFMD, BMR and SFDR
12. Knowledge in sustainable investing including investments, the regulatory environment and client demand
13. Experience and knowledge across the elements of the product development process: research, strategy, structuring, launch co-ordination and product lifecycle management
14. Manage complex projects with stakeholders across multiple teams and geographies
15. Strong capabilities in researching and analysing market trends and intelligence to support product strategy and design including experience in using third party databases.
16. Ability to problem solve and identify / analyse issues, find viable alternatives and recommend solutions
17. Highly effective relationship-building with strong collaborative skills across all levels and teams within a global business
18. Ability to be persuasive and articulate in presenting complex ideas and issues to teams across the business in a clear and succinct way.
19. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
20. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Morningstar, Bloomberg, Factset, Lipper etc.#
