Full Stack SW Support Developer
The Full Stack SW Support Developer will be responsible for the maintenance and incremental improvement of innovative pricing, rating and analytical software systems and processes for this insurance client. The successful candidate will work directly with the development, analytics, actuarial and underwriting teams, and must therefore be able to communicate effectively across all groups, with a focus on responsive prioritization, user experience, and timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
Responsilbities
1. Supporting the client user base for proprietary modelling software, across the front-end and data layers of the software stack.
2. Diagnosing faults by means of user reports and logging; identifying and recommending solutions; implementation, testing, and delivery of software changes.
3. Continual, incremental improvement of the applications via a prioritized backlog.
4. Developing ad hoc reports, data extracts and scripts, primarily in SQL and delivered in Excel.
5. Maintenance of support and system documentation, both user-facing and internal to Engineering.
6. Augmentation of automated regression testing coverage.
7. Investigating, evaluating, and making recommendations for improvements to current and new software and processes.
8. Support the wider development team with ad hoc tasks as required.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
9. University Degree in Computer Science
10. 2 Yrs Full Stack / web development experience, ideally C# Microsoft .NET
11. 2 yrs experience with commercial datasets and data management technologies (SQL Server preferred)
12. Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment
13. Applied experience of Cloud (ideally Azure) technologies for software hosting and infrastructure a plus
14. Experience with PowerShell and REST API tools (such as ARC) preferred
15. Proficient in use of Excel for delivery of ad hoc data extracts and live data feeds
16. Working knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services would be an advantage
17. Experience with data visualization, Tableau / Power BI a plus
18. Willing to work overtime during busy periods, including weekends and public holidays
