Responsibilities As the Logistics General Manager - Transport Manager, your role will encompass: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive transport and logistics strategies aligned with business objectives. Identify market trends and new opportunities to expand operations and improve services. Drive cost-efficiency initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards in service delivery. Operational Excellence: Oversee all logistics and distribution activities, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. Manage contractor relationships to achieve financial, logistical, and customer satisfaction targets. Optimise fleet performance, ensuring vehicles meet operational demands while remaining cost-effective. Team Leadership: Lead, inspire, and develop transport teams, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment. Ensure all employees are trained to the highest standards and fully compliant with health and safety regulations. Compliance and Risk Management: Guarantee compliance with RSA and other relevant transport and safety regulations. Develop risk management strategies to ensure business continuity and mitigate operational risks. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align transport operations with broader company goals. Coordinate with customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries within KPIs. Performance Management: Analyse and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), using data to implement continuous improvement initiatives. Report on logistics performance to business owner, offering solutions for challenges and areas for growth. Ensure financial and P&L reports are done and communicated to business owners. Requirements To succeed in this role, you'll need: Proven experience in a senior transport management role or General Manager role, preferably within a logistics or distribution setting. A third-level qualification in transport management, supply chain, business administration, or a related field is desired. Strong IT capabilities, including proficiency in ERP systems and logistics software. Exceptional leadership and team-building skills. Outstanding communication, organisational, and time-management abilities. A strategic mindset coupled with the ability to manage hands-on, fast-paced operations. What's on Offer?
