Our client a leader in the Retail Sector has an urgent requirement for a Qualified Accountant to join their team.
The group are seeking a qualified accountant for the role of senior accountant to oversee the day-today finance function.
Key duties and responsibilities
·Overseeing the finance function of the group’s head office operation and the group subsidiary company.
·Supervision of the accounts staff and other members of the finance team.
·Management of cash flow and preparing short-term cash projections.
·Preparation and oversight of payroll for the group.
·Preparation of VAT returns.
·Preparation of monthly management accounts and related performance reports for the group.
·Working closely with the CEO, CFO and other board members on a daily basis.
·Attendance at regular meetings of the board of directors.
·Management of the financial year-end function and liaising with auditors on completion of the audited financial statements of the group.
·Reviewing the company’s internal controls regularly and identifying areas for development and refinement.

Key requirements
·Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA).
·Minimum 2 years PQE in an industry environment preferred, but not essential.
·Candidates from a practice background, where they will have had exposure to a variety of larger client accounting operations, are also welcome.
·Some previous experience in the use of accounting software such as Sage and Intact IQ is advantageous, but not essential.
·Adept in the use of MS applications, mainly Excel and Word.
·Experience in the preparation of payroll and exposure to payroll software packages such as Sage Professional.
·Strong communication skills and be favourable to working within a friendly team. The role involves interaction with the company’s CEO, CFO and board members on a regular basis.
