Asset Care/Maintenance Manager/Technical Manager 40 hours per week
Reports to: Operations Manager (Director)/Managing Director
Purpose
Main areas of responsibility
1. Systematic measurement of Manufacturing OEE and resourcing improvement projects with Departmental Managers.
2. Implementation of best practice maintenance into all Manufacturing areas, factory services and tool care area.
3. Auditing and reporting effectiveness of Manufacturing Asset Care.
4. People management including development and training.
5. Technical leadership – establishing engineering protocols and specifications for the site.
6. Manage capital projects. Identify suppliers and manage delivery of capital projects within agreed timeframes, cost and efficiency criteria.
7. Contractor selection, negotiation and performance monitoring.
8. Management of departmental budgets.
9. New tool design and introduction – close liaison with Central tool / product design team.
10. Maintenance of facility – buildings, roads, services etc.
11. Management of legislative compliance e.g. pressure vessel regulations, lifting equipment regulations, asbestos management, cooling tower maintenance.
12. Management of information systems – IQMS/PMDE.
13. Maintenance inventory management.
14. Effective Quality management systems.
15. Management of change.
16. Systems knowledge management.
Key Performance Indicators
17. Number of Health and Safety Accidents and Incidents within target.
18. Risk Assessments completed to target and compliance to safety and occupational health regulations.
19. Customer Complaints within target levels.
20. Quality standards within target levels.
21. OEE maintained at budgeted levels.
22. Labour Productivity and costs to budget
23. Workplace Organisation.
24. Work order completions and cycle counts completed to schedule.
25. Team Improvements to target.
26. Team absence levels.
27. Training and development to plan.
28. Team performance reviews.
29. Project management within timescales and budget.
30. Adherence to Asset Care program audits and reporting effectiveness of results.
Knowledge, skills & experience
Candidates are expected to have, or eventually progress towards the following:
31. Educated to engineering degree standard, likely to be a Charted/European Engineer.
32. Minimum of 3 years experience managing maintenance activity.
33. Formal Health and Safety Qualification.
34. Established project management skill and track record.
35. Knowledge of Engineering standards and best practices e.g. RCM, Six Sigma Green Belt.
36. HR skills and experience e.g. disciplinary, performance management processes.
37. Experience of training and coaching people.
38. IT literate to include MS Office.
39. Experience of using lean manufacturing techniques e.g. Value Stream Mapping.
