The Job Reporting to the Integrated Inventory Planning Manager, In this role, you will assist the buyers in managing the departments stock, minimizing risk, and maximizing both sales and profit. You will regularly forecast stock and sales as trading patterns evolve, maintaining optimal stock levels for all key lines within the department. Using existing data, reports, and your own tools, you will find ways to optimize stock levels to enhance sales. This position is centered on creative problem-solving. You will collaborate with the Buying Team to set major financial targets and conduct regular trading reviews to maximize sales and maintain appropriate stock levels. Your tasks will include: Forecasting Stock Collaborate with the buying team to forecast short and medium-term stock requirements at the product level, ensuring optimal stock availability while minimizing risk. Develop a clear understanding of each category within the division, including supply chain dynamics, lead times, category strategies, and future requirements. Overseeing the Replenishment Process Work with buyers to identify products and brands suitable for auto-replenishment, assisting with setup in the replenishment system and adjusting settings to maximize accuracy. Run, analyze, and process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly replenishment cycles. Liaise with suppliers to confirm stock availability before raising orders. Ensure the replenishment system is current, such as by removing lines approaching end-of-life from replenishment. Regularly review replenishment settings with Buyers, Stores, and Category Managers, and amend as needed. Maximizing Sales and Profit Strategic Inventory Analysis Ensure critical core lines are always in stock without being overstocked. Monitor sales of all product lines and: Suggest additional buys where appropriate. Minimize risk by identifying slow sellers and potential overstocks, recommending appropriate actions. Monitor stock levels of best-sellers at the branch level and make necessary adjustments. Reporting Prepare reports on categories, brands, and products to communicate and review inventory and margin performance across the division. Learn all systems and progressively become a super-user of internal Excel-based and SAP reporting tools, helping to develop and improve the existing suite of reports for better data accessibility. PROFILE your knowledge, skills and experience include: What you will bring We are looking for someone who is passionate about a career in retail. You may be a recent graduate with a degree in a numerical, analytical, retail, or business-related subject, ideally with some retail experience. Alternatively, you could be working in-store with strong math skills. Whatever your background, you should possess the following skills: Highly numerate and analytical, with strong attention to detail. Confident in working with large datasets and maintaining accuracy. Excellent knowledge of MS Excel; SAP experience is desirable but not essential. Organized with the ability to plan and prioritize workload effectively. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team. Professional, self-motivated, and enthusiastic about a career at Harvey Norman. Experience: Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in MS Excel. Some experience with SAP would be beneficial but is not required. Skills: Great problem-solver and critical thinker with exceptional analytical skills, capable of processing and presenting large volumes of data in a clear and accessible manner. Additional Information: This is a permanent role with an 6 month probation period. The successful candidate will be required to attend a company induction day in Dublin City Centre.
