RGN Telephone Triage Nurse HSE Out of Hours Service Tullamore
18 to 27 hours per week for indefinite duration.
Summary of job/ role.
1. Midoc GP Out of Hours Service is an urgent family Doctor Out of Hour’s Service. The aim of the service is to provide the highest possible standard of care outside of normal surgery hours for patients of participating GPs in counties Offaly, Laois, Longford and Westmeath.
2. The Midoc GP Out of Hours Service provides Urgent medical care to patients whose medical needs cannot wait until their GP’s surgery re-opens.
3. The Staff Nurse (Telephone Triage) is part of a nursing team based in the Triage Centre, Tullamore. The Staff Nurse (Telephone Triage) is the first point of clinical contact for patients and provides a telephone triage service as appropriate within protocols and guidelines. The Staff Nurse benefits from working in a dynamic area of nursing within a supportive team of skilled triage nurses. Induction training and mentorship provided.
The service is operational Monday to Friday 18:00 – 08:00 and 24 hours Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.
4. The Staff Nurse must work flexibly as part of a telephone triage nurse rota during the operational hours of the service.

7. Effective analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
8. Experience working in at least one of the following areas: Accident & Emergency Dept., Paediatrics, Practice Nursing, Midwifery or Telephone Triaging
