Job Title: In-House Solicitor (EL/PL Claims)
Join our client’s dynamic and innovative team at one of Ireland’s most beloved retail brands. We are seeking a talented and experienced In-House Solicitor to focus on defending Employer Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims.
Role Overview:
As In-House Solicitor specialising in EL/PL claims, you will play a critical role in protecting the company’s interests by managing and defending liability claims. You will work closely with various departments to investigate, assess, and resolve claims, ensuring that legal strategies align with business objectives. Key Responsibilities :
1. Manage and defend a portfolio of Employer Liability and Public Liability claims from inception through to resolution.
2. Conduct thorough investigations into incidents, gathering and analysing evidence, and interviewing relevant parties.
3. Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and responses.
4. Represent the company in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings
5. Collaborate with external legal counsel, insurers, and other stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes.
6. Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to internal departments regarding liability risks and claim prevention.
7. Develop and implement effective legal strategies to mitigate risks and reduce exposure to liability claims.
8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
9. Prepare regular reports and updates on the status of claims for senior management.
Qualifications and Experience:
10. Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally with a focus on Employer Liability and Public Liability claims.
11. Strong knowledge of Irish law, particularly in the areas of liability and personal injury.
12. Proven track record of managing and defending EL/PL claims successfully.
13. Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
14. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
15. Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
16. Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
