POSITION SUMMARY
Hitachi High-Tech Ireland’s Semiconductor Equipment Division (SED) supplies and supports plasma etchers used in the manufacturing of semiconductors. As a Field Service Engineer I in the SED Customer Support Department, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining Hitachi etch equipment at a customer manufacturing facility in line with contractually agreed availability targets. You will be required to interface with key personnel both internally within Hitachi and externally within our customer teams; requiring a highly technical, professional and self-motivated approach. You must continuously seek to strengthen your technical abilities by proactively accessing the experience of the senior team members. You are expected to execute this role while demonstrating initiative and innovation in the proactive provision of service in line with Hitachi’s contractual obligations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Complete equipment technical training. (E)
2. Successful maintenance of Hitachi etch equipment at a customer facility, meeting corporate service contract requirements. Demonstrate a consistent high level of quality workmanship - checking your work, ensuring fix first time, checklist/procedure adherence in line with expectations. (E)
3. Demonstrate regular Safety Audit completion, identifying hazards and rectifying/escalating as appropriate; effective use of Stop the Job authority. (E)
4. Consistent creation of detailed, accurate, technical reporting on all work performed on the documentation systems of record (mainly Salesforce), shift passdown,, training certification, etc. and any other items requested by Management. (E)
5. Demonstration of a professional, positive approach to customers and colleagues in all areas – communication, appearance, demeanor and attitude. (E)
6. Willingness to travel and/or relocate for training or to support business requirements. Travel may be domestic or international. (E)
7. Compliance with and adherence to all company policies (E)
8. Willingness to increase technical knowledge on all Hitachi equipment in a self-motivated fashion or under the direction of more senior members. (E)
EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND/OR CERTIFICATION
9. Bachelors or Associates Degree in related field preferred (or)
10. Military experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a related field (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical or similar discipline)

18. Gas delivery, monitoring devices and the application of various gases used in etching processes (P)
19. Robot/Wafer handling systems (P)
20. Understanding of electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics. (E)
21. Good computer skills, with competency in common office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint. (E)
