Main Purpose of Job: To provide a friendly and efficientservice within the dining and any other food service areas, dispensing bothfood and beverage order accurately, with courtesy to the standard requiredaccording to legislation and the internal standards set out by TrumpInternational Doonbeg.
Liaises with: CulinaryDepartment, Stewarding, Front Desk, Managerson Duty
MAIN DUTIES
1. Arrivesto work on time, appropriately groomed and in the correct uniform.
2. Prepares tables tothe appropriate standard with linen, silverware, glasses, flatware and refillscondiments.
3. Maintainsfamiliarity with all menu items, specials, and restaurant information.
4. Meets with Manager,Serving staff and Chef regularly in order to learn about menu changes andspecials in addition to discussion on upcoming reservations, special events andguests with special needs.
5. Assists host or hostess by answering phonesto take reservations and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
6. Welcomes and escortsguests to their table as they arrive at a restaurant.
7. Introduces gueststo the menu and announces daily or seasonal menu specials and responds to anyquestions regarding menu items, ingredients, and allergens.
8. Describes andrecommend wines to the guest and responds to any questions.
9. Explains how various menu items are prepared,describing ingredients and cooking methods.
10. Takes note ofguests’ orders and via the POS (point of sale) system accurately conveys theorder to culinary staff for preparation.
11. Brings wineselection to the table with the appropriate glasses, opens and pours for theguest.
12. Collects foodorders, verifies that they are accurate, and serves them to the guest.
13. Ensures that theguests are satisfied with their meal and processes orders for additionalcourses as necessary.
14. Consistently adheres to the five-starstandard of service.
15. Provides guests with any information theyrequire on the property or the local area, including providing directions.
16. Removes useddishes, glasses, and flatware from tables.
17. Prepares chequesand delivers them to customers.
18. Processes cash andcredit card payments and returns change to customers.
19. Perform cleaning duties including sweepingand mopping floors, vacuuming carpets and rugs, tidying service station, dustingand polishing brass and silverware.
20. Addresses anycustomer concerns in a professional manner and notifies management of same.
21. Delivers carefulmonitoring ensuring that no person under the age of 18 is served alcoholicbeverages and adherence to tobacco regulations.
22. Ensures that allguest requests are responded to immediately.
23. Set up for servicefor next shift.
24. Due to thecyclical nature of the hospitality industry, staff may be required to workvarying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel which can includeday, evening or weekend shifts.
25. Participates in training programmes as required.
