About the role
We are delighted to share that we have an opportunity for a Packaging Engineer to join our dedicated team at Bailey’s Nangor Road, Dublin.
As a Packaging Engineer, you will provide tier 1 and 2 engineering functional expertise and coaching across the site, ensuring operational excellence through continuous improvement, compliance, and proactive performance management. This role requires you to lead and support a team of 5 – 6 Craft Technicians with a strong focus ontroubleshooting, maintaining, compliance, asset care and collaboration with operations teams to achieve performance in safety, quality, environment, and productivity.
Key accountabilities will include:
1. Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality and compliance to maintenance regulatory standards including electrical compliance.
2. Lead the deployment of the MMS Asset Care practices
3. Ensure the asset care team execute all scheduled specialist improvement activity
4. Management of contractor Risk assessments creating and reviewing method statements and raising work permits for approved contractors using computer-based permit system, supervising contractors while on site
5. Continuously drives for next level of performance through review of Autonomous Maintenance and Asset Care Leading A3’s onsite and presenting back to the business.
6. Work alongside Engineering manager to manage the asset care budget and maintenance budgets and ensure most cost-effective solutions are executed
7. Apply specialist knowledge to lead improvement projects using DMAIC methodology
8. Engage with the Daily Operational Review meetings to raise, discuss and follow up on persistent performance issues to root cause problem solving and effective control
To be successful in this role, we’re looking for someone who:
9. Qualified time served trade (Mechanical/Electrical) or local equivalent (essential)
10. Can work well within a team as well as the ability to make effective decisions and thrive in situations where they can solve problems
11. Holds strong interpersonal, leadership and coaching skills with an ability to communicate with all levels across site
12. Proactive structured problem-solving skills learnt through exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or ManEx.
13. Possess a solid foundation and knowledge of RCPS, 5S, Set Up Time Reduction, Autonomous Maintenance
14. Good working knowledge of Environmental legislation and standards
15. Track record of maintenance management - KPI improvement, planning effectiveness and adherence, CI
It'd be great and advantageous if you had Project Management experienceworking in a challenging quality & customer focused FMCG environment with an understanding of commercial production & supply chain management.
Financially aware and a deep knowledge of ME, packaging lean methodologies, process control, RCM, SAP (or MRP systems), Planned Maintenance, Environmental and Quality systems would be advantageous.

Shifts
This role requires you to worka shift pattern of 39 hours per week. Working 4 days, rotating days and back shifts7am - 4pm and 3pm - 12 midnight.
